Water Escape & Flood Damage

When you experience flooding, the most convenient way to deal with it is to hire a flood/water damage restoration company to do the water removal and to clean your home for you.

Full range of services

When hiring a flood/water damage restoration company, you need to make sure that the company you are signing up to the job offers the full range of services that your flooded home requires, as there are certain flood situations that require more services than others.

Water removal

The main service that flood/water damage restoration companies offer of course, is water removal which involves pumping out the flood water from your home. The process requires special equipment like sump pumps and water vacuums.

Complete structural drying

A professional restoration company can also do complete structural drying. This is one of the most important services we offer because proper drying of the property (be it residential or commercial) will prevent secondary damage from the moisture and mould growth. Our water damage restoration team will be able to check if areas behind stud walls, under floorboards and other hidden areas are already completely dry before any reinstatement works commence or furniture is returned.

The science of drying

Understanding the specific relationship between temperature, humidity and air flow (psychometrics) can help dry materials faster and more thoroughly. It helps determine the type, methods and capacity required for dehumidification.

Flood / water damage restoration is as simple as A, B and C:

A. Remove as much water as quickly as possible

B. Vaporise the remaining moisture as quickly as possible

C. Remove the vaporised air as quickly as possible

Our toolbox options for building drying

“The relative humidity in occupied premises is normally around 50%. After flood or water damage this can rise substantially as water evaporates”.

It stands to reason then that in order to correctly dry a property following a flood or water damage, we need to control the humidity levels. By controlling the moisture in the air we are able to prevent it being re-absorbed by dry (or drying) materials.

Standing water removal

Our Flood Pumps offer a high performance, portable alternative for initial extraction at the onset of every flood/water damage job. Designed exclusively for the restoration industry, our flood pumps are lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, and simple to maintain. It can extract more than 37 litres per minute and discharge through a standard garden hose.

Drying equipment

Our Air Movers make our drying system go. They initiate the drying process by evaporating the surface layer of moisture from wet materials with high velocity airflow. Once the moisture is airborne it can be removed through dehumidification.

Our Dehumidifiers are the hub of our drying system. Without proper dehumidification, Air Movers would continually circulate damp air and cause secondary damage. Our dehumidifiers are finely tuned to remove water vapour from the air and surrounding structural materials to create effective building drying.

Dehumidifiers

Refrigerant dehumidifiers are the most common in our industry, and are essentially modified portable air conditioning units. These condense water vapour onto cold coils which then drips the water into a collection tray where a pump then pumps the water from the unit or collects it into a bucket.
